Gardening Temple Square

For our Stake service project Saturday morning, we headed up to Temple Square to help them clear out the old flowers and plant new ones. It was much too early for a Saturday morning, but totally worth it. We had a blast.

This is Bryan and I as part of an exceeding long mulch bucket brigade.

Exploring SunRidge Hills

I went for a brisk exploratory walk after work today to investigate my new neighborhood and the mountain it sits on. My apartment is in the closest building in the photo. The mountain goes straight up from there. There are a series of bike paths up on the mountain that were quite populated with mountain bikers, dirt bikers, and runners.
As I was hiking along the path I almost stepped on this guy. Probably the largest snake I have ever seen in the wild. It was easily longer than my wing-span. Since snakes give me the heeby-jeebies I immediately retreated to a safe distance (about a quarter of a mile) and then worked up the courage to sneak back to snap a photo. So breathing heavily, and constantly glancing over my shoulder or up into the trees (like snakes would be sneaking up behind me or ambushing me from above), I brought myself carefully within eight feet of the creature. That's pretty good for me.

London...

QuicKutz sent me to London to go on QVC UK (the shopping channel) and promote the Silhouette. Not wanting to wander the streets of London alone, I convinced my younger brother to come and we made a vacation out of it. Mike and I had a blast in London, running around and seeing all the sights. We tried to blend in with the locals (as you can see in the photo below) but our massive cameras and poor map skills made us stick out like a bunch of Americans. Mike however, made a conscious effort to put a plug in for Canada any time we did something particularly friendly like take a photo for someone else. If we were being obnoxious, well, they assumed we were Americans anyway.

I can't pick a favorite part of London any better than I can pick a favorite photo out of the thousands we took in three days. I finally narrowed it down to just 50 photos, so if you really want to watch this, you might need to grab some snacks.

Girly Weekend

Mom and I totally enjoyed our girly weekend. We went to the Park City outlets, tried on each other's clothes, stayed up till 1:30 talking (mom thinks that's late), ate lunch at Costa Vida, watched two girly movies and went for a girly walk. We also spent some quality time with the Thompsons eating and laughing... then we realized, we had only taken one picture. Here you go.

Sunday Drive

I love Sunday drives. They are just so relaxing. I definitely have my favorite spots, but this Sunday I decided to go exploring. I found the coolest road that winds around a section of Utah Lake. It's only wide enough for one vehicle, so every 100 ft or so there is a pull-out so cars can pass. I stopped every 100 feet or so anyway to take pictures so it worked well for me. Especially since it was so windy and cold that I refused to get out of the car. So with the heater blasting, I just rolled down my window to take pictures.

St. Patrick's Day

I was in charge of FHE on Monday night, so in honor of St. Patrick's Day we played drinking games. It was a roit and what better to do after drinking WAY too much water but go to a movie. I finally saw I Am Legend (50 cents on Monday nights, isn't that crazy?) I almost peed my pants. Not because of the Zombies, nor because the movie was so cheap. I guess I'm just really bad a drinking games. You might say I don't hold my water too well.
