Paternity Week playtime

After Cincinnati, the rest of our paternity leave staycation was a little closer to home.  We took the kids to see Zootopia.  We all loved it, and I especially love that when the movie credits come up at the end of the movie, my kids always dance.  The theater was no exception.
We took the kids to the zoo, but they were kind of lame that day.  Both toddlers were tired of walking after about 15 minutes and Alice was occupying one of the seats of our double stroller, so Chris was constantly carrying one or trying to convince them to walk.  We didn't last that long.  The best part of the morning was watching the walruses.  While Jane was up against the glass, an enormous, ugly walrus swam right up to Jane's face and stayed there.  Jane froze immediately, then held her breath and slowly turned away.  It was pretty frightening for her, but very entertaining for us.

Chris let this flamingo nibble all over his arm.  They seem friendly but I don't trust them...

This is the sure-fire way to calm down a screaming Alice.  Just hold her arms and feet and bounce her up and down with your arms.  It takes serious arm strength, so this is a job for Chris.  She also gets really cute big eyes whenever we do this and I love to watch.  I just love this little peanut.

Peter's been doing this for ages so I finally decided to take a picture.  You know he's getting ready to fall asleep when he assumes the carseat slumber position and grabs both handles.

We also took the kids bowling.  Our bowling lane didn't allow the use of the ramp thing for kids so we ended up going duckpin bowling.  It was really fun with the kids.  They could roll the ball by themselves... kind of.  We often gave it a little help.   They really enjoyed it and then loved running around the arcade.

I finished Alice's quilt this week too.  It was so nice to have Chris home.  We had a great time.

So funny with the bowling! She forgets to even look or care, and then Peter runs out and gives her a hug! Precious!
