The Christmas card that never was...

I had every intention of sending out Christmas cards, but it just didn't happen this year.  I even had the Christmas newsletter written.  Oh well, here's the 2010 recap, and here's to an exciting 2011!

Greetings family and friends and welcome to the very first Chris and Amy Christmas newsletter.

I started 2010 cleaning the remains of a glamorous New Year’s Eve party.  As the crowds slowly cleared out, the remaining close friends raised their sparkling cider glasses and said this is going to be our year.  “Magical things will happen for us this year.”  It’s the kind of thing you say every year, right?

Later that month, several intense games of ping pong at a snowy cabin led me to rediscover Chris Silva whom I had know for the previous year and a half only as my home teacher.
Chris waited politely for his roommate (who had been asking me out) to get in his rented moving van and pull out before he called and asked me on our first date.

In March I started a new job as the Art Director for Silhouette America.  I LOVE it!  And who else would you send to Japan on product development business than a graphic designer?  I spent a week over there mostly in meetings and eating food I would never have ordered on my own, but I did manage to fit in some sightseeing.

In August, Chris started a job at the Church Office Building in the Research and Information Division of the Correlation Department. Between his new job, Applied Psychology classes at BYU, working on his thesis, researching for two professors, teaching an internship class, training for a marathon, and his calling as the Elders Quorum president, Chris stayed pretty busy through the fall.

In October, we headed down to St. George where Chris ran his fastest marathon yet.
Then sitting on the couch in the second Saturday session of conference, Chris turned to me and said, “I want to marry you.”  “I want to marry you too,” I replied.  Then like two idiots in love, we started laughing.  Did we really just say that?  Is this for real?

In November, Chris officially proposed and I accepted.  We are getting married on March 18th in the Mount Timpanogas Temple and couldn’t be more excited.

(A late) Merry Christmas to all of you and I hope you get a magical year next year too.

Okay, I like this post. And..my friend had a teacher with the last name Silva and he would always sing the song, "Silver Bells" but change it to "Silva Bells!" So I think you should do that.

The end. Congrats.
