Chris and I flew out to San Francisco last weekend to spend some time with Greg and Laura. We've both been to San Francisco a few times each, so it was mostly just nice to hang out and visit, but of course, we love doing stuff, so we did our fair share of sight-seeing too.
On Saturday morning we headed to Mama's for breakfast. As you can see by the endless line outside the restaurant, they are well known for their breakfasts. We waited outside in line for an hour and half before being seated, but I'm actually going to say it was definitely worth the wait. The food was incredible and definitely one of the highlights from the whole trip. We talked about it for the rest of the day.
Next we headed to Coit tower and actually went to the top.
In the afternoon we went to the Exploratorium (a hands-on children's science center). Below are Chris and Laura with their beer goggles.
AND.... We got to go to Alcatraz. Chris and I have each always attempted this on our visits to San Francisco, but it is always sold out. We booked our tickets for the night tour in advance and it was so fun to go together for the first time. I loved it. I think it's so fascinating. They always try to get you to be interested in the natural habitats of the island, but I just want to hear about the prison.
On Sunday, Chris and I went for a romantic stroll down Baker Beach. It's just a short walk from Greg and Laura's place and it was gorgeous. I wish the photos did it justice.
I just love Chris' "looks". He has the best faces and always keeps things fun.
On Memorial Day, we stopped by the San Francisco National Cemetery... because we're just patriotic like that.
Greg had a dental school bbq on Monday at a park just down under the Golden Gate bridge, so while they were all eating and talking dental school talk, Chris and I walked over to the base of the bridge and took some pictures. It was a really fun trip and most of all we just loved hanging out with the Gardners. Thanks for having us!

So fun! Wish we had known about the "Mama's" secret when we visited San Fran -- the food looks divine. Loved the night tour of Alcatraz too -- so creepy, so good! Looking forward to seeing you guys soon!
Those are wonderful pictures. What a fun time you had. If those pictures of the beach don't do it justice....then I can't imagine, because they are incredible!! We loved the tour of Alcatraz too, but we didn't do it at night. (but it didn't look very dark there)
Wow. A great trip with great pictures. Love the one on Alcatraz through the archway... and love the beach pictures. What a fun weekend!!
